We have been approaching the end of our series of Zoom calls about things you can do with PNI, and we have been talking about what our next series should be.

The first thing we (this is the people on the last few calls) decided was that we like the series approach. It means we can set our topics a year in advance, so people can see what we will be talking about long before they choose to attend a call. We can start thinking about the topics way in advance too.

The second thing we decided was the topic of the next series. It will be Areas of PNI Application, that is, things people and communities and organizations do. We will talk about how PNI can help people do those things. We created an initial list, and now it’s time to ask you, our wider membership, what you think.

This is our list of application areas, so far.

  • Governance
  • Defense
  • Emergency services
  • Health care
  • Education
  • Development
  • What NGOs do
  • Consultancy
  • Technology
  • Internet
  • Entertainment
  • Sports
  • Philanthropy
  • Fashion
  • Food
  • Video gaming
  • Journalism
  • Transportation
  • Mining
  • Agriculture
  • Manufacturing
  • Retail

Obviously this is too many areas to talk about in one series, so there will be some trimming and lumping. If you think of any areas we didn’t list but should, tell us in the comments or via email or Twitter. Remember that the areas must be things people and communities and organizations do (like grow crops, transport people, etc), not what happens within communities and organizations (like sales, HR, marketing, etc, or particular approaches).

If you think any of these areas are especially important and should definitely be kept in the series, tell us. If you want to suggest a lumping scheme, go for it. This is the time to speak up!
